12 Days of Moments with Christ Day 7 (Dec 21, 2025)

12 Days of Moments with Christ Day 7

When my daughter was 4, she exclaimed one day, “I can’t believe Jesus MADE me!!”

It was so random, I laughed and said, “I know!”

To which she responded thoughtfully, “He’s a sweet guy.” πŸ˜‚

I had a horrible relationship with my body as a teenager and the mirror was often far from my friend. Because of this I did not treat my body very well.

Thankfully that is WAY behind me. I don’t recognize that girl. Much of the healing came from many moments with my Savior and recognizing JUST what my daughter exclaimed: He Made Me.

Receiving this body was part of my eternal plan. I fought for it. I shouted for joy for it. It is the vessel that carries my spirit. It is the instrument of God, helping fulfill His purpose. It is a gift! I am so grateful for what it can do!

When the brother of Jared asks the Lord to touch the stones with his finger, it’s funny how surprised he is when he actually sees... a finger! He’s blown away and he falls to the ground.

Then he learns this beautiful truth:

“Seest thou that ye are created after mine own image? Yea, even all men were created in the beginning after mine own image. Behold, this body, which ye now behold, is the body of my spirit; and man have I created after the body of my spirit” (Ether 3:15-16)

How real and personal Christ must have become for him! God the Father and the Son are not abstract entities. They look like us. We look like them!

They are divine. We are divine.

And of ALL His creations, WE are Their glory. Wonderfully made and beautifully known.

Not only did Christ create us, He came down Himself in a mortal body and experienced it all, even death and rising up again.

Jesus IS a pretty sweet guy.

PS that Greg Olson painting reminds me of that very child who was so excited about Jesus making her. 😊 In fact, when she was little she saw it and asked “is that me?” ❤️ A few years later she ended up having similar struggles as I did as a teen, but 10x worse, and has made her own remarkable recovery journey. So it seemed fitting with this post!
