12 Days of Moments with Christ Day 1 (Dec 15, 2025)

12 days of Moments with Christ Day 1

Sooo… I have not posted on this account for a year, whattt! Sad. It’s been an interesting year. Husband diagnosed with stage 2 testicular cancer. (Doing well now!) First missionary out 🇩🇴. (My mom heart!) Our oldest in her second year at college. Leaving me with “only” (ha!) four kids at home, redefining this motherhood thing that always keeps me on my toes! Ups, downs, and in between. But one thing remains sure, and that is my faith. When I say sure, I don’t mean perfect. Cause it isn’t. But I choose it every day! And no matter what anyone says against it (which seems like a whole LOT out there lately), it makes me better every day. Because it brings me peace, joy, hope, perspective, and closer to my Savior.

So I decided in the spirit of Christmas to come out of my temporary retirement and do 12 days of moments with Christ. Moments I knew He was there.

Moment 1.

My youngest recently had his “temple/priesthood preview” night because he will be 12 next year! And it reminded me of when I turned 12. I remember being so excited when my young women leaders came to visit me. They gave me a gift bag with a bookmark, my personal progress book, the FSY pamphlet, a YW necklace, and a poster of Christ that said “You Are Never Alone” with a Bible scripture.

I promptly hung that poster on my pink and white striped bedroom wall across from my bed. I looked at that poster every day. And when I prayed, especially those heartfelt prayers, I found myself looking at that poster, into His eyes, and… talking straight to Jesus.

These were the moments He became real to me.

I think I still have that poster somewhere. But I googled it to find the exact one and as soon as I saw it, tears came to my eyes. And I became that young girl again for a moment. There He was! My friend. My friend who made one 12-year-old girl feel less alone by comforting her in her 12-year-old problems.

“I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.”

He did, He really did. And He still does. ❤️
