 12 Days of Moments with Christ Day 4

When I was young I remember singing the hymn “I Believe in Christ” at church when suddenly it morphed from mindless singing to really hearing the words, and the realization came to me, “I DO. I DO believe in Christ.”

That’s the moment. Very simple, nothing overwhelmingly revelatory, but it was still special for me and I think of it every time I sing that song. And that last verse? Fire 🔥

“I believe in Christ; so come what may,
with Him I’ll stand in that great day
When on the earth he comes again
To rule among the sons of men.”

I mean, that is like a mic drop phrase for me. Come what may! Throw whatever you’ve got at me Satan, I’ve got Christ on my side! I stand with Him and He stands with me and it’s all gonna be all right in the end!

I can’t count the number of times a song has pierced my soul with truth and I’m grateful for the spiritual language of music.
