 12 Days of Christmas Songs Day 6

I’m the primary music leader & we have been working on singing the cute song “Prince of Peace” by Monica Scott in sacrament meeting. It’s simple & so sweet! I taught the kids some actions using little finger flashlights, which they loved.

Two of my favorite parts: The chorus says “Prince of peace, healer of men,” & we point to the palm of our hand. I asked the kids why, & they knew❤️ The nail prints. We talked about how Christ is a healer, not just of physical things, but He can help heal our sadness & struggles.

My other favorite part is the lines about heaven. “On this night, heaven’s light,” we cover up our light for a second, then shine it down on ourselves! And then there is a line that says, “Heavenly peace, we will keep.” We wave our heavenly light up high, then bring it down to our chest & cradle it with our other hand to “keep” it in our hearts. Watching the little children gently “keep” their lights is so precious! Hold onto that peace! Especially in chaotic, wiggly, fun-filled primary 😆

Hearing children sing with their hearts is so special. May they bring that heavenly peace as they testify of our Savior through this song on Sunday! 🙏💫
