12 Days of Christ: Day 11 (Jan 26, 2023)

Well, this is embarrassing! I intended to have these posts written the 12 days before Christmas, ‘tis true! And yet, here we are🤦‍♀️😂

One of the biggest holdups in sharing spiritual things is the voice in my head that says, “You have nothing to say.” “You have nothing to give.”

I overthink it for sure.

“They presented unto him gifts.” (Matt. 2:11)

How did the wise men know what to give?

I know there are theories & speculations as to WHY they gave gold, frankincense, & myrrh.

Regardless of WHAT they gave, they traveled far to find the Savior, & offered something. Again… what do I have to give?

Sharon Eubank said, “The Lord wants to use you. There is a work for you to do, & it is specific to you & your abilities… And remember that, in the same way as the Savior, you yourself are one of the best gifts that you can give to other people in need… You are the gift.”

YOU.

Me?

How about a Target gift card?! 👍

We are so hard on ourselves. We say, what difference can I make? How could I ever give back to God? I’m nothing.

But HE MADE US.

My kids’ humble gifts may not be worth much in the eyes of the world, but they mean everything to me.

Our heartfelt efforts mean everything to Him.

We are an essential part of His plan.

I LOVE THIS, by Marianne Williamson:

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

We offer more than we know.

He needs us to rise up. To shine.

Give Him what you have. He will do the rest.
