Spirit to spirit

I love how Moroni is like- this is true, but don’t take MY word for it! Find out for yourself- with a SINCERE HEART, REAL INTENT, FAITH, & “by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things” (Mor. 10:5)

It’s a BOLD promise.

I’ve had the opportunity to hear some sacred experiences first-hand from loved ones concerning the other side of the veil; three with near-death experiences & one with her deceased father. 

It’s interesting that in all of their accounts, they noted that communication was very different than the way we know it. 

From one of them: “What he told me was spirit-to-spirit, a means of which I hadn’t been aware until I experienced it. With spirit-to-spirit there can be NO miscommunication.”

SPIRIT TO SPIRIT. Doesn’t it makes sense that the Spirit speaks to us in a language we’d recognize from our premortal life? 

Elder Christofferson said, “Faith will not come from the study of ancient texts as a purely academic pursuit. It will not come from archaeological digs & discoveries. It will not come from scientific experiments. It will not even come from witnessing miracles. These things may serve to confirm faith, or at times to challenge it, but they do not create faith. Faith comes by the witness of the Holy Spirit to our souls, Spirit to spirit, as we hear or read the word of God.”

Spirit to spirit! Unfortunately, there is no “Spirit-ese For Dummies.” But the more I feel it, the more I know it! I’ve felt it many times in many ways. Like my heart’s gonna burst out of my chest. Transcendent thought. A flash of light in my brain, like everything in the world makes EXACT sense. A deep burning in my soul. Tears springing to my eyes. Ideas flowing. A sense of calm. 

Sometimes I actually hear a voice in my mind saying these exact words, "Do you feel that?" Sounds weird, I know. But it’s as if someone is whispering it over my shoulder- Like, Erika, stop right now, acknowledge what is happening! Recognize the divinity of what is being communicated to you in this moment! DO YOU FEEL THAT? Sometimes I whisper back, yes.

It’s undeniable.

So yes, spiritual truth rests on “feelings.” There will always be skeptics. Doubters. Mockers. 

But spirit to spirit is enough for me.
